Achilles Tendonitis

Achilles tendonitis can often be associated with foot function, and can also be related to excessive use of the posterior lower limb muscles, resulting in reduced range of motion in the ankle joint and more strain on the Achilles tendon. Foot function needs to be carefully assessed, especially in sports requiring explosive use of power to generate great speed or change of direction. Bio mechanical assessment is necessary, and may result in a treatment management program that includes stretching and strengthening, prescription foot orthotics, and foot wear recommendations.
