Ankle Pain
Ankle pain can be caused by many different factors, and needs to be carefully examined to establish why pain is present in the area. There can be different anatomical and physiological reasons for ankle pain. The ankle region is one of the most common peripheral joints to be subjected to stress and strain, and is commonly injured in sports requiring sudden changes of direction. Ankle injuries require careful assessment and specific management programs, to assist in preventing chronic pain associated with earlier injury. We will assess your ankle pain, and determine what treatment management program is most suitable for you. This may include proprioceptive exercises to re-educate muscle groups supporting the ankle, manipulative therapy for the ankle region or ligaments, and selection of specific foot orthotics to gain more support in the ankle region.
